Inside a Securelux Install: The Workmanship Details That Matter
A Crimsafe security screen is only as strong as its installation. Two identical products installed by two different teams can perform very differently – one secure, one compromised. This page walks through what a Securelux installation actually involves, step by step, so you understand exactly what you are paying for.
Step 1: The Consultation and Measure
A Securelux consultant visits your home and physically inspects every opening that may need screening. They assess the substrate (timber, aluminium, steel), check frame condition, measure each opening multiple times for precision, and discuss your priorities – whether that is security, airflow, pet safety, fall prevention, bushfire rating, or aesthetics. Recommendations are tailored to your home type. A Queenslander with louvre windows requires different solutions to a modern build with stacker doors.
Step 2: Itemised Quoting
You receive a detailed quote listing every product by name and tier, the lock type, hinge grade, and other accessories, colour-matching decisions, any structural modifications required (jamb adaptors, box sections, angle stops), and the installation scope. There are no hidden extras. If additional work is required, it is identified and quoted before you commit.
Step 3: Manufacturing in the Securelux Factory
Products are built at the Securelux factory in Redland Bay. The process includes precision framing of every item before assembly, accurate and straight mesh cuts – essential for the Screw-Clamp system to perform correctly, application of the patented Crimsafe Screw-Clamp method with screws every 125 mm, Tef-Gel applied to every clamp screw to prevent galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals, Saltwater Series gel applied for additional corrosion protection as standard, fitting of Austral Parrot Beak triple locks, and multi-stage quality control checks at each phase, with a final inspection before the product is cleared for delivery.
Step 4: Installation Day
When the Securelux installation team arrives, the following happens:
Site preparation. Drop sheets are laid to protect your floors, walls, and furniture. Furniture near work areas is covered or moved.
Careful fitting. Each screen or door is fitted precisely to the opening. Installers confirm the substrate is sound, verify fixing patterns against Crimsafe specifications, and secure frames using the correct screw type, length, and spacing for the material.
Hardware installation. Locks are aligned and tested for smooth engagement. Hinges are checked for correct swing and tension. Anti-jemmy striker plates are fitted where applicable. Bug seals are installed and confirmed flush.
Sliding door tracks. For sliding screens, tracks are levelled, rollers adjusted for smooth travel, and interlocks checked for correct engagement. Stacker door installations – which Securelux is known for handling well – require particular precision to ensure multi-panel systems glide and lock correctly.
Final inspection. Lock engagement, frame stability, smooth operation, secure anchoring, and perimeter gaps are all verified. Fixings are inspected for correct tension. Nothing is signed off until every component operates correctly.
Step 5: Handover
Before the team leaves, they walk you through how to operate your new screens, explain the locking mechanisms, and provide warranty documentation, care guidance, and contact details for ongoing SecureCare support. The site is cleaned – tools packed, debris removed, floors vacuumed.
Why These Details Matter
Improper installation can void the Crimsafe warranty and reduce the screen’s protective performance. In high wind, cyclone, or bushfire zones, screens that are not installed to specification may fail to meet the required testing levels. Correct fixing patterns, substrate verification, and screw tension are not optional extras – they are what make the product perform as designed.
Securelux has been doing this for over 40 years. The workmanship is not accidental – it is a system, and it is the reason customers consistently describe their experience as professional, tidy, and above expectation.
